SL Embassy holds Sahabat Sri Lanka programme
The Sahabat (Best Friend) Sri Lanka Programme attended by Indonesian youth took place at the Sri Lankan Embassy premises in Jakarta on Friday (25). The majority of participants were International Relations students from various universities in Indonesia, such as the Budi Luhur University, University of Indonesia, Diponegoro University, President University, Binus University etc.
The event began with a live preparation of traditional Sri Lankan kottu roti and cutlets. The participating students got hands-on experience in preparing the Sri Lankan delicacies at this interactive cooking session.
The Ambassador of Sri Lanka Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage, Minister Counsellor (Defence) and the Second Secretary (Commercial) also had discussions with the invitees on the Blue Economy and Sri Lanka’s role. The Ambassador encouraged the students to do their part in protecting the oceans.
The Sri Lankan Embassy concluded the event with a quiz on history of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Indonesia and gave away prizes to the winners.
