“SLPP is ready for polls”

SLPP Parliamentarian Sudarshana Denipitiya yesterday said that his party is prepared for an election, even though this is not a right time to hold one.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Battaramulla on Wednesday, Denipitiya said that the country is facing an unprecedented economic crisis and people don’t want an election at this point of time. 

 He said that his party is ready to contest the election at any given time. 

“We have deposited money. We will hand over all nominations in about two days’ time. However, as we know it, the people are not expecting an election at this moment of time,” he said.
