SLPP Matara District Organisation supports President Ranil Wickremesinghe

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Matara District Organisation met yesterday afternoon and unanimously decided to pledge its support to President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the upcoming Presidential Election, said Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera.

“At the meeting held with the participation of Electorate organisers, former Provincial Council Ministers and Members, former Local Council Chairpersons, Members and Candidates, Members of affiliated organisations in Matara, it was also proposed and unanimously decided to request the SLPP Leadership to reconsider its decision taken on Monday” he added.

The Minister further said that a proposal was also adopted at the meeting to request the SLPP to support President Ranil Wickremesinghe and to remove SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam and appoint Dr. Ramesh Pathirana as the General Secretary of SLPP.
