SLPP renegades want to re-join – MP Sagara

Some Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MPs who had chosen to be independent have requested to rejoin the SLPP, its General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said.

Accordingly, MPs who have given their support to SLPP Independent MPs’ Group led by Dullas Alahapperuma have made this request, Kariyawasam said. Kariyawasam said three such MPs have already joined them while others are a presently discussing with them.

Kariyawasam made these observations at a press briefing held yesterday (14). When asked if Namal Rajapaksa would be given a Ministerial position, Kariyawasam said the former has already refused such a post because he is committed to rebuilding the SLPP.
