SLPP retains Anamaduwa Co-operative Society

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) group won the election to appoint office-bearers to the Anamaduwa Muti-Purpose Cooperative Society.

The SLPP group retained power for another three year term following a tense election. The polling was held under special Police protection at the cooperative society premises.

A tense situation during polling was averted with the involvement of the Police.

All seven members of the Board of Directors of SLPP were retained. The NPP which suffered defeat at the poll accused the SLPP group of using undue tactics to secure victory.
