SLR Under-24 Tournament kicks-off today
Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) in their attempt to revolutionise youth rugby in the country will conduct the Under-24, 15-A-Side League Tournament, commencing in Colombo today.
Four club teams and six provincial teams will compete in this tournament, which has been revived after a lapse of more than 10 years, where the youth rugby clubs, and provincial youth rugby teams are participating in one competition.
Petersons SC will take on the Field Force SC in the curtain raiser match of the tournament at the Thurstan College Grounds in Colombo, commencing at 4.00 p.m. today
The other two clubs participating in this tournament are Old Wesleyites Sports Club (OWSC) and Science College Maroons with the two top teams qualifying to play in the knock-out stage.
Meanwhile, Uva Province will take on the Western Province in the opening match of the Provincial Tournament on Sunday at the Vincent Dias Stadium in Badulla.
The other four teams competing in the provincial tournament are North Western, Central, Southern and North Central Province.

November 5: Petersons SC vs Field Force SC at Thurstan Grounds. November 6: OWSC vs Science Maroons at Thurstan Grounds. Uva vs Western at Badulla. North Western vs Central at Kurunegala.
November 12: Science College Maroons vs Field Force SC at Thurstan Grounds. Uva vs Southern at Badulla.
November 13: OWSC vs Petersons SC at Thurstan Grounds. North Western vs North Central at Kurunegala.
November 19: OWSC vs Field Force SC at Thurstan Grounds. Science Maroons vs Petersons SC at Mount Lavinia. November 20: Western vs Southern at Thurstan Grounds. Central vs North Central at Matale. December 2: Bowl final. December 3: Plate final. December 4: Cup final.
