SLVS condemns attack on veterinarian

The Sri Lanka Veterinarians’ Association (SLVA) has stated that the attack on Priyasad Ediriwarna, a veterinarian at the Ridiyagama Safari Park by an unruly group is a violation of human rights and a serious threat to the quality of work.

The Union said in a statement that this type of violence was illegal and strongly condemned the incident.

The Union also called on the authorities to create an environment conducive for veterinarians to perform their duties with professional dignity.

They also requested the authorities to ensure that such acts do not recur and that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
