Some CEB engineers, trade unions will be doomed with Bill passage – Minister
Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera told Parliament yesterday that some engineers and trade unions in the Ceylon Electricity Board will lose their hidden businesses after the new Sri Lanka Electricity Bill is passed.
He also said that there is no other institution in the country like CEB that has been grasped by a monopoly run by a certain group existing in the CEB.
Presenting the new Sri Lanka Electricity Bill, the Minister said even though all political parties were invited to submit their proposals on this Bill, only a few people came up with proposals. (See page 4)
