Parliamentary Secretary General Kushani Rohanadeera said that a separate Parliamentary employee will be appointed to assist visually impaired Parliamentarian Sugath Wasantha de Silva, in Parliament.
The Secretary General stated that, as this is the first time a visually impaired person has entered Parliament, it is a special occasion.
The Secretary General also said that an easily accessible seat within the Chamber, will be provided for the convenience of MP Sugath Wasantha de Silva. In this year’s General Election, 57-year-old Sugath Wasantha De Silva was nominated to Parliament as a National List MP from the National People’s Power.
