A teacher in charge of sports in a main school in Wattala, who collects drug money under the direction of a criminal currently living abroad, who is a follower of “Ganemulla Sanjeeva”, an organized criminal, who is currently living overseas, and gives the money to smugglers abroad in the Undial system was arrested and a T56 firearm, 04 magazines, 125 bullets, 18 mm 9 bullets and a set of sports uniforms used by Police officers were seized by the Mahabage Police.
Police Investigators found the suspected teacher had hidden the firearm and ammunition in a closet in the school’s playroom.
According to the instructions of Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon, under the supervision of Rohan Premaratne, Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Western Province North District, a team including Chief Inspector Subhash Priyadarshana, OIC of Mahabage Police Station, is conducting further investigations on the summons orders regarding the suspect.
