Sri Lanka were 14 for 1 before poor weather forced the play to stop on day one of their two-day practice game against Bangladesh Cricket Board XI which was played at Krira Shikkha Protisthan no 3 Grounds in Savar, Dhaka yesterday.

Sri Lanka decided to bat first in this practice game while openers skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and new partner Oshada Fernando were unable to make a good start, while Karunaratne was out for 2 runs in 18 balls and his wicket was taken by Mukidul Islam in the 5th over.

Oshada Fernando was remaining unbeaten at 7 in 28 balls with Kusal Mendis unbeaten at 5 in 5 balls with a boundary at the wicket at the end of day one.

Sri Lankan cricket manager Mahinda Halangoda said heavy rain interrupted the first day and the game will continue today.

Dimuth Karunaratne (Captain), Oshada Fernando, Kusal Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Kamindu Mendis, Niroshan Dikwella, Ramesh Mendis, Asitha Fernando, and Chamika Karunaratne were named for this practice game. (D.R.) (D.R.)
