Sri Lanka ‘A’, India ‘A’, Pakistan ‘A’ and India ‘B’ win on third day

Sri Lanka ‘A’, India ‘A’ and Pakistan ‘A’ were undefeated at the end of the third day of the 8th Lawyers Cricket World Cup being played in Sri Lanka. India ‘B’ won their second game from three outings. Ahansul Siddiqui, Aman Shastri scored centuries for India ‘B’ while Sajwal Javaid scored a century for Pakistan ‘A’.

Of the five games scheduled to be played today the game between Bangladesh ‘A’ and Pakistan ‘B’ at the LRDC ground in Nawala was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

At the FTZ ground in Katunayaike Sajwal Javaid Butt scored 100 off 90 balls with 12 boundaries and 2 sixes and Muzaffer Hussain chipped in with an unbeaten 76 off 52 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes for Pakistan ‘A’ after which their bowler restricted Sri Lanka ‘B’ to 120/7 to register their third win in the tournament.

An unbeaten half ton by Saurabh Ahuja and a four wicket haul by Aditya Kumar Achirya helped India ‘A’ register their third win of the tournament defeating Barristers of England and Wales by 8 wickets at Thurstan ground.

Thusith Paliwatta starred with bat and ball (64 and 2-28) to see Sri Lanka A register their third win within three days by defeating the Commonwealth team by six wickets at the Air Force ground Katunayaike.

Batting first the Commonwealth team scored 180 runs and Sri Lanka A won the game with six wickets and 40 balls to spare.

Centuries by Ahsanul Siddiqui (111 off 79 4×4 and 6×9) and Aman Shastri (100 off 55 4×9 and 6×6) and three wicket hauls from Madhusudan Kalantri and Sayan Mukherjee saw India B post 305/8 which was sufficient to overcome Bangladesh ‘B’ by a mammoth 220 runs at the MCA ground
