The Australian cricket team is ready to conduct their first practice session today at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium. They will focus on the T-20 series(three matches) first of which will be on June 7 at the R. Premadasa International Stadium, commencing at 7 pm.
Australia team members reached Sri Lanka in three groups while the last batch of the team was scheduled to arrive yesterday night. All team members will be accommodated at the Hotel Cinnamon Grand while Australia ‘A’ team which is scheduled to arrive today will stay at Cinnamon Lake Hotel for their cricket series against Sri Lanka ‘A’ which will commence with ODI game on June 8.

June 8 and 10 at the SSC grounds and two four day games scheduled to be played at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota. This is a good move to play against a strong Australia team as well as Australia ‘A team and especially it’s very important to invest money during this hard period.
The cricketers as well as officials are working very hard to prepare for this series and really appreciated Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for conducting these tours during this hard period, added former Sri Lankan opener Charith Senanayake.

The newly appointed Sri Lankan Head coach Chris Silverwood and Assistant coach Naveed Nawaz are looking to do their first assignment at home against Australia. Their first assignment against Bangladesh in their away test series saw Sri Lanka winning1-0 and now they will prepare to face strong Australia.
Australia led by Aaron Finch is the current T-20 world champions and they also have a big challenge against Sri Lanka during this full cricket series which will be played after six years.
Meanwhile, SLC Secretary Mohan de Silva said Australian cricket series which includes night T-20 matches, day-night ODIs, and two test matches will go on as scheduled and all arrangements have been finalised for this series.
SLC will conduct National cricket team series at Colombo, Kandy, and Galle while Sri Lanka ‘A’ and Australia ‘A series at Colombo and Hambantota This is more important series for both of the Teams while ‘A’ teams of the two countries will take on each other concurrently with the National team cricket series. Sri Lanka Cricket is expected to conduct a two-Test match series against Pakistan, the Asia Cup T-20 tournament, and the third edition of the Lanka Premier League before the next T-20 World cup which is scheduled to be held from October to November in Australia.
