Sri Lanka agrees to test Chinese Fertilizer with third party – Envoy

Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong yesterday said that the Sri Lankan authorities and the Chinese company have reached an agreement to have a sample of fertilizer from the controversial Chinese organic fertilizer ship tested by a third party.

The Chinese Ambassador also said the issue with the Chinese organic fertilizer ship is only a commercial issue and not a diplomatic one.He said a small group from Sri Lanka was trying to politicise the issue.

He added that the issue has been complicated by the publication of fake news in this regard.

He was speaking to the media yesterday (14) after visiting the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya and receiving blessings from the Chief Incumbent of the Asgiriya Chapter, Most Ven. Warakagoda Sri Gnanaratana Thera.
