“Sri Lanka is among the countries that vaccinated more than half of its population”, Minister says
Half of the Sri Lankan population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and it is a great victory achieved by the country, Co-cabinet Spokesman Mass Media Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said.
Speaking at the weekly cabinet media briefing held today at the Government Information department Minister Alahappruma said that each and every citizen of the country plays a significant role in achieving this victory.
“It is fortunate that our country is able to be among the very few countries on the world map as a country where more than 50 percent of the population has been vaccinated against the second dose. The Minister pointed out that most of these countries are G7 countries and 4 of them are vaccine-producing countries.” said the Minister.
The Minister said that all are heroes and partners in this victory and that those who have made immense sacrifices in the field of health, security personnel, heads of state as well as people who did not go to work and stay at home are heroes and partners in this victory. COVID could be better managed if everyone spent the next few weeks in this unity
