Sri Lanka Junior Baseball squad leaves for Asian C’ship
The Sri Lanka Junior Baseball Team, led by Royal College’s Daniru Dissanayake, left the island last night to take part in the BFA XI U-15 Baseball Asian Championship, scheduled to take place in Weihai City in Shandong, China from August 20 to 26.
The 18-member team’s vice captain is Sudeera Lakshan, a student from Ranabima Royal College in Kandy.
The championship lineup features formidable contenders, with Group A comprising Japan, China, Pakistan, and Hong Kong. Group B promises exhilarating clashes among Chinese Taipei, Korea, Philippines, and Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka is scheduled to headline the curtain-raiser match against Korea on August 20.
