The Sri Lanka Junior Match-Play Golf Championship, marking the 8th edition of the Rukmini Kodagoda Trophy, sponsored by Perera and Sons Bakers (Pvt) Limited, is all set to tee off on August 21 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.
The championship’s first day will witness a medal round qualifying competition, determining the initial standings. Subsequently, the event will transition to the match play segment, scheduled to take place from August 22 to 24.
The Sri Lanka Junior Match-Play Golf Championship stands as a tribute to Rukmini Kodagoda, a prominent figure in Sri Lanka’s sporting history.

In the previous edition, the titles were claimed by Kaya Daluwatte in the girls’ division and Haroon Aslam in the boys’ division.
The participants will be categorized into four age brackets: Gold Division (15-18 years), Silver Division (12-14 years), Bronze Division (10-11 years), and Copper Division (under-9 years).
Notably, contenders in the Gold and Silver Divisions for girls, as well as boys in the Gold Category, will have the opportunity to vie for the coveted Rukmini Kodagoda Trophy and the distinguished titles of Junior Boys Champion and Junior Girls Champion, respectively.
