Sri Lanka name T20 cricket squad for 2026 Asian Games

Sri Lanka have named a 15-member men’s T20 cricket squad for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with several players with senior international experience included in the side.

The squad includes Niroshan Dickwella, Chamika Karunaratne, Nuwan Thushara, Binura Fernando, Ashen Bandara, Nuwanidu Fernando, Dushan Hemantha, Pramod Madushan and Vijayakanth Viyaskanth.

Lasith Croospulle, Sahan Arachchige, Tharindu Hasanka, Wanuja Sahan Kumara, Keshan Thathsara De Livera and Sineth Jayawardena complete the 15-member squad, according to the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka list.

Ashan Priyanjan has been named head coach, with Anusha Samaranayake serving as fast bowling coach and Upul Chandana as spin bowling coach.

The men’s cricket competition will be played from Sept. 24 to Oct. 3 in Japan. Sri Lanka are among four seeded teams, alongside India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, and will enter the tournament directly at the knockout stage.

Sri Lanka won the Asian Games men’s cricket gold medal in 2014.
