With this win, Sri Lanka secured their place in the Asian Volleyball Championships to be worked off in Japan from September 12 to 19.
The Lankan spikers won the match in straight sets 25-24, 25-13 and 25-22.
The home side had the advantage in the first two sets but Uzbekistan came back strongly in the third set to take a firm 17-7 lead at one stage.
However, Sri Lanka fought back gallantly to level the scores 20-20 and went on to clinch the set in a thriller while collecting three successive points.
With Sri Lanka winning this game in a comfortable manner they managed to make their way to the Asian Volleyball Championships which is played once in two years.
