Sri Lanka sends ‘Kudu Anju’s details to France in extradition bid

The Sri Lanka Police have sent details related of underworld criminal and drug trafficker ‘Kudu Anju’ to the authorities in France in a bid to bring him back to Sri Lanka.  

‘Kudu Anju’ who has an Interpol Red Notice against him is currently being held in a French Prison.

Police information stated the Sri Lankan Embassy in France is providing support to the Police in the matter. A list of the crimes committed by ‘Kudu Anju’ so far and the crimes he committed while staying in Dubai and France has been prepared and steps have been taken to inform the French Government. Apart from that, the information also stated that the orders given by the Courts in Sri Lanka regarding ‘Kudu Anju’ and even reports related to the cases have been sent to France.

A senior Police officer said that there is a belief that France will take steps to hand over ‘Kudu Anju’ to Sri Lanka as the response so far from the French side to Sri Lanka’s efforts are positive.
