Sri Lanka to make changes for series decider
“We are really hoping that we could pull it off and get that elusive series win,” Arthur told journalists on the eve of the series decider.
He also stressed the fact that Sri Lanka would make a couple of changes for today’s game after having conceded the second ODI to their opponents on Saturday.
“There will be one or two changes in the team for the game but it is heart warming for me to see these youngsters working hard exceptionally and getting better and better.”
The Sri Lanka Head Coach also praised the efforts of young Mahesh Theekshana, who may get the chance of making his debut along with a couple of other players.
“There is a definite chance that Theekshana would make his appearance because he gives us something different to the side and perhaps there will be an opportunity for a few more players tomorrow.”
This match will be of great significance for both teams as they look to improve on their ICC standings in an attempt to qualify directly for the 2023 World Cup.
Both Sri Lanka and South Africa are flirting too close to the line of having to pass through a qualifying tournament to make it to the 2023 World Cup and victory in this match will put either of them into the top five.
