Champion Lankan karatekas with their trophies
Sri Lankan junior karatekas excelled to win the overall championship at the 4th International School Karate Championship held in Cochin, India from November 25 to 27.
Thirty five school athletes from all over Sri Lanka participated in the Katha, Kumite and Team Katha events where they won 29 gold medals, 30 silver medals and 27 bronze medals. The champion Lankan karate team arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday and received a worm welcome at the BIA.
