Sri Lanka’s Honorary Consul in Czech Republic gets service extension

The service of Sri Lanka’s Honorary Consul in the Czech Republic, Marek Nemec, has been extended, the Embassy and Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Vienna said.

Nemec met Sri Lanka’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative Dayani Mendis on September 16, 2026, during which he received the extension of his service as Honorary Consul.

During the meeting, the two officials also discussed opportunities to further strengthen relations between Sri Lanka and the Czech Republic.

According to the Embassy, discussions focused on enhancing people-to-people contacts and exploring opportunities to promote trade and tourism between the two countries.

The meeting also covered prospects for increasing employment opportunities for Sri Lankan workers in the Czech Republic. (Newswire)
