Sri Lanka’s inflation holds steady at 8% in September

The Overall Rate of Inflation, measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year basis, remained unchanged at 8% in September 2026, matching the rate recorded in August 2026.

According to the Department of Census and Statistics, food inflation increased slightly to 8.7% in September, from 8.5% in the previous month.

Meanwhile, non-food inflation remained steady at 7.7%, unchanged from August 2026.
