SriLankan leases another Airbus A-320 aircraft

SriLankan Airlines acquired an Airbus A320 Aircraft on a lease basis. The plane was brought from Malaysia to the Katunayake Airport on December 21.

This aircraft, which is registered with the International Civil Aviation Authority under the serial number 4 R-ABS, is scheduled to take off on its maiden flight from Katunayake to Maldives on the December 29 after completing the necessary painting and other services.

This highly fuel-efficient aircraft has 12 business class seats and 138 economy class seats.

This new aircraft is going to add its flight operations to the Indian subcontinent, Far East and Middle East air zones.

With the purchase of this new aircraft, SriLankan Airlines has 12 narrow-bodied aircraft and 10 wide-bodied aircraft, 22 aircraft in all.

In addition, in the first weeks of January 2024, another wide-body Airbus A-330 aircraft and two engines for the two A-neo Air Bus aircraft parked in the Sri Lankan airport due to the lack of engines. After adding more planes to Sri Lankan Airlines, the total number of planes in the Srilankan Airlines fleet will be increased to 25.

SriLankan Airlines has also taken steps to acquire another Airbus aircraft on a leasing basis in the March.SriLankan Airlines is conducting its direct flight operations from Katunayake to 36 destinations in 21 countries.
