St Johns and Muslim Central excel in football

St. John’s Maha Vidyalaya Kalutara under 17 women’s football team won the first place and Muslim Central College Kalutara under 16 men’s football team captured the second place in the finals in their All Island School Football Tournament-2023, western province level matches held at Kalutara esplande recently.

Based on this, St. John’s Maha Vidyalaya Kalutara Under 17 girls football team beat the Gampaha District, Ja-Ela, Niwandama, Jinaraja Maha Vidyalaya girls football team with a difference of two goals to nil and won the title of champion.

Meanwhile, the famous and powerful Muslim Central College Kalutara boys’ football team won the second place by a goal difference of one goal to nil and in the match against Negombo Al-Hilal National School Boys’ Football Team of Gampaha District.

It is also worth noting that the both teams have qualified to participate in the upcoming all island school football tournament-2023 final round matches.
