Stalin, others arrested for protests

The Teachers’ Union General Secretary Joseph Stalin, Ven.Rathkarawwe Jinarathana Thera and 29 protesters were arrested by the Thalangama Police for staging a protest at the Polduwa Roundabout in Battaramulla yesterday.

Police Media Spokesperson SDIG Ajith Rohana said that another Monk and two women are also among the arrested.The protesters were produced before court under the Provisions of the Quarantine and Prevention of Disease Ordinance yesterday. Thalangama and Welikada Police are investigating.
