STF finds 20 heavy weapon ammunition in Ambatale

The Police Special Task Force (STF) on Saturday found 20 heavy weapon ammunition used for military purposes in a forest area in Ambatale. The STF said that this ammunition was wrapped in a transparent bag.

The bag containing the ammunition was found following information the officers of the STF Jayawardenapura Camp received.

The STF also said that the ammunition used for HK11, HK21, G3, SNIPER weapons were among them. A senior police officer said that these weapons were used for military operations.

The ammunition has been handed over to the Mulleriyawa Police Station.
