Student falls from Diyagama University dorm after brawl

The Kahathuduwa Police said the student who fell from the third floor of the dormitory of Diyagama University of Technology and was seriously injured and admitted to the Homagama Base Hospital has died.

The deceased student named Vikum Subhaswara Withanaarachchi (25) was a resident at Rikillagaskada and was a third year student studying Information Technology at the university.

After admitting the student to the hospital at 10.20 am yesterday (18) by a group of students who said that he fell from the third floor, the doctors made an effort to save his life but he passed away at 12.15 pm, a hospital spokesman said.

According to Police sources, there was a discussion among the students that the deceased student had an argument with an outsider in the dormitory room yesterday (18) morning.

Investigations will be conducted on the instructions of Kahathuduwa Police OIC, CI A.H.K.Priyankara.
