Support Ranil Wickremesinghe for future well-being of country

Senior Vice President of Tamil Professionals Forum Dr. N. Kumaraguruparan said that all who wish to see the country’s progress should support the continuation of President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s Socio-Economic Reform (SER) programme.

He told the Media in Colombo that President’s SER programme had lifted the country, which was in an unprecedented crisis, in a short span of two years.

“We are still not out of the crisis but, on the correct path. Any disruption to this programme could see Sri Lanka fall back into the abyss it was before two years ago. So, at this crucial juncture, it is highly important to ensure the continuity of that programme”.

Dr. Kumaraguruparan went on to say that the world was able to witness a real reincarnation of Sri Lanka from its failed State status, due to the erudite and visionary leadership of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

He said the international community has a very high regard and trust in President and this has helped him garner unprecedented international help for the country’s recovery process.

“All responsible politicians should allow President Ranil Wickremesinghe to finish the task he began and his economic restructuring. Of course, time is up for elections. But we should remember he never shied away from the challenge of resurrecting a failed State”.

He also said President could also put an end to fraud and corruption, twin factors which has hampered Sri Lanka from progressing rapidly.

“In this backdrop, it is high time to strengthen our President’s hands by giving more democratic power to continue to galvanise the country’s Economy beyond political shades. His practical foreign policy on a non-aligned platform is admirable” he added.
