Suspect arrested for having cannabis plants in pots in Godakawela

The Godakawela Police said that a suspect was arrested with 25 flower pots containing cannabis plants from a house   in Kosnathota area, which is said to belong to the Public Health Inspector working in Godakawela town.

Police said that these pots with cannabis plants were found among flower plant pots.

Police arrested sixty-seven-year-old father-in-law of the Public Health Inspector who was in the house.

The PHI was not in the house when the police inspected the location.

Police have recorded a statement from the public health inspector, in which he has told the police that he does not reside at home and is engaged in duty while residing in the official quarters in the Godakawela town.

The arrested suspect is to be produced in courts.
