Suspect arrested with 8,000 illegal fags

Special Task Force (STF) personnel yesterday arrested a suspect along with 8,000 illegal cigarettes from Kotahena. The suspect, a resident of Ratmalana, has been handed over to Kotahena Police.

The raid was conducted by the STF Organized Crime Division under the directive of STF Commandant Attorney-at-Law Waruna Jayasundera.

The value of the contraband is Rs. 600,000.

The STF personnel on Monday also seized a stock of illegal cigarettes in Negombo during a raid and arrested a suspect residing in Kattuwa in Negombo.

The suspect along with the contraband was handed over to the Negombo Police.
