Suspect arrested with gold jewellery

The Airport Police on Sunday (15) arrested a suspect along with a 24 carat gold necklace and two bracelets that were smuggled into Sri Lanka without paying duty.

The suspect is a 28-year-old resident of Pannala.

A senior Police officer mentioned that this suspect had brought these gold items weighing 230 grams and 17 milligrams without submitting them to the customs and after knowing that, the Police arrested him and handed him over to the customs officers.
