Suspect in kovil thefts has Rs. 30 Mn in bank accounts

Police investigating a suspect who broke into four temples in Manipay, Jaffna, have found nearly Rs. 30 million deposited in his bank accounts.

Police said that the suspect had come to Jaffna from Colombo to carry out the robberies.

After the thefts, he had returned to Colombo. Later, he had gone to Jaffna again to rob another temple. This person was arrested with the help of CCTV footage in the Manipay temples.

Steps have been taken to present the suspect in Court.
