Suspect involved in cigarettes scam detained

Monaragala Police arrested a person in Uva Kuda Oya area in possession of 214 Royal-type foreign-made cigarettes which suspected to be brought to this country illegally.

The suspect is a resident of Uva Kuda Oya Manelgama area. This arrest was done by a group of Moneragala Police officers including the Monaragala Police Anti-Corruption Division Sub-Inspector Madushanka. Police have taken steps to produce the suspect and the stock of cigarettes before the Court.
