Suspect murderer shot dead in contract killing

A person who was on his way home on a motorcycle with his wife and five-year-old son was shot dead by two men on a motorcycle, near a mosque on Suchi village road in Hambantota, last Sunday (21).

Police suspect that this murder was committed under a contract given by someone who was close to the deceased person.

The deceased, H.K.S. Muthukumarana (38) was a resident of Siribopura in Hambantota.

Hambantota Police said that there are two murder cases pending against him, in addition to which he also has a case related to drug trafficking.

Police have launched a raid to nab the shooters.
