Suspended cop arrested with cannabis

Ruwanwella Police on Monday arrested a Police Constable who was on suspension for providing security to a brothel which was being operated under the guise of a massage centre, with 02 grams of Cannabis in his possession.

Investigations have revealed that the Police Constable is allegedly having a relationship with the owner of the brothel which is operated in the Yatanwala area of Ruwanwella.

During the investigations it was discovered that the Police Constable had been suspended from service on June 30, 2018 while serving at the Dematagoda Police Station. Based on investigations carried out, he had posed off as a Police Officer when customers arrived at the brothel.
