Suspicious death of Chief Monk in Kalutara

Kalutara North Police have started investigations based on information that Ven. Paragasthota Revatha Thera, head of Kalutara North Uggalbada Malasne Rajamaha Vihara, died under suspicious circumstances yesterday (18).

He has fallen near a window of the new lodging area and passed away. Investigations have been started based on a complaint made by a member of the congregation that his death is suspicious. The police said that the magistrate’s investigation and the Kalutara crime scene investigation laboratory officers conducted separate investigations. A large number of local residents came to the temple after the incident.The body has been kept at the Kalutara Teaching Hospital for post-mortem examination.
