Swimmer Anuhas Hettiarachchi – pride of Dharmaraja

He started his swimming career in 2009 at the age of six under the guidance of veteran coach U. H. Sugath.

At first he won the National Age Group title in 2014 and won the Central Province Group Championship for three successive years in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Anuhas received a Gold Medal at the Under-15 National Long Course Swimming Championship in 2017 and won the Bronze Medal at the Under-15 All-Island School Games.

He was placed 12th at the 80th Annual 2-Mile Sea Swim in 2017 in the Under-15 age category.

He was awarded the Rajans’ Maroons at the Dharmaraja Colors Nite and again he received Zonal Colors for winning at the All-Island School Games in 2017.

Anuhas represented Sri Lanka at the 54th Group Swimming International Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

He was placed second in the 50m backstroke at the 44th National Age Group Aquatic Championship in 2018 and won the Rajans’ Maroons and a Special Award at Dharmaraja Colors Nite in 2018.

In 2019 he was placed second in the 50m backstroke and at the 45th National Sports Festival in 2019 he received a Silver Medal.
