Sylvestrian- Vidyartha rugby clash today

Today at the Bogambara Stadium arch rivals in sports St.Sylvester’s College will scrum down with Vidyartha College in their annual game which is not a tournament game, kickoff is at 4 pm and they treat this as their big match like the cricket big match. From the year 2010 this game is played for a trophy in memory of past principals of the two schools Bertie Nillegoda and P.M.L.Banda. Today both schools give a big hand for the game of rugby despite limited facilities.

Vidyartha College led by NanjanaWijesuriya has a good set of players like Ranindu Gajanayake, Ishara Sandaruwan, Charana Perera, Dishan Kumara, Kaveesha Hettiarchchi who are sure to give their best and this in the tournament they have played against Science College, Trinity College, Dharmaraja College, Zahira Colleg atBogambara, Royal College and St.Peters College in Colombo. The side is coached by Buddhika Abeyasinghe, who has done his best.

St. Sylvester’s College are also with a good set of players and in the tournament they played against Carey College, Wariyapola Sri Sumangala College, Mahanama College, St.Benedicts College and Prince of Wales. They are well guided by Suranga Kodithuwaku. and the side is led by R.R.A.S. Lakshan and the players who are expected to do well are W.G.V.D. Weerasinghe, M.M. Paris, .M.D.A.D.Kottegoda, S.M.A.D.B. Samarasekara and, R. Pavitha
