T-56 rifle found in Mihintale

Police have recovered a T-56 assault rifle, four magazines and 25 rounds of ammunition from an unattended parcel found on the Mahakanadarawa Tank embankment in Mihintale.

Mihintale Police made the discovery during a search conducted Friday (4) after receiving information about a suspicious parcel at the location.

Police said the individuals who left the firearm and ammunition at the site have not yet been identified.
