T20 World Cup report submitted to Parliament – AG tells CA

The Attorney General informed the Court of Appeal yesterday (7) that the Auditor General’s investigation report related to the report prepared by the committee chaired by retired Supreme Court Judge Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena, investigating the allegations levelled against the cricket team during the T20 World Cup has been submitted to Parliament.

Deputy Solicitor General Manohara Jayasinghe, who appeared for the Attorney General, stated this when a petition filed seeking to prevent the cancellation of Sri Lanka Cricket’s registration based on the committee’s report was taken up in Court.

The Deputy Solicitor General, who appeared for the Attorney General and the Sports Minister, informed that the report of the investigation conducted by the Auditor General has been published and it has been tabled in Parliament.

He requested the court to give two months time for the said activities.The Bench decided to call the petition again on January 29.
