Table Tennis star Krishan the pride of Vidyartha
After that he became Runner-up in the Under 16,18 and under 19 age groups in 2013,2016 and 2017 respectively. From 2014 to 2016 he became Junior National doubles Champion partnering Udaya Ranasinghe of the same school and he won the Junior National Singles TT title in 2015 and became the Runner-up in 2016. In the Under 10,12,15,18 and 21 age groups table tennis Ranking tournaments Krishan became either Champion or Runner-up. Apart from that he became under 18 and Under 21 Champion and was adjudged as the Most outstanding player at the Western Province TT Tournament in 2015.
In addition to these performances in the year 2016 he won the North Western Under 18 All Island Ranking tournament and again he became Runner-up in the Under 18 age category in the same year. Apart from these he became Champion at the Mahipala Herath Challenge Trophy TT tournament held in 2015and Mayor’s Cup All Island TT Championship in 2018 he received the Open Men’s Singles TT Title. At the Table Tennis tournaments held abroad he won a Silver Medal at the South Asian Junior T.T Championship held in India in 2013 and in 2014 he won a Bronze Medal at the Asian Junior TT Championship held in Pakistan. In 2015 he won Two Silver Medals and a Bronze Medal at Singles TT events at the South Asian Junior TT Championship held in India. In the following year he won two Gold Medals for team events in singles events and in the same year he got the Seventh place at the Asian Junior championship held in Malaysia. In 2018 he participated at the World Table Tennis championship held in Sweden and he won a Bronze Medal for his individual playing and won another bronze Medal for the Men’s Doubles TT event.
Krishan is currently the No.1 National Ranked Table Tennis player in the country and his target is to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games in 2022 and bring fame to his motherland.He is also hoping to participate at Olympics in the future.
