The 20 th “Battle of Raigam Salpiti” formerly known as “Battle of the Centralians” will be worked off between Piliyandala Central College and Taxila Central College Horana on June 10 and 11, 2022 at Dombagoda Army Cricket Grounds Horana followed by the limited over match at the same venue on June 12, 2022.

These two schools are leading educational institutions of the island which has produced many top class sportsmen. This year the task of leading Central College lies on the shoulders of Ashen Rodrigo and his deputy will be Chanuka Janul.

Both schools are evenly balanced and without much match practice but Taxila Central has the edge because they clinched the All Island Division Two Tier “B” Title for the year 2021/22. No one can predict the outcome of the game untill the last ball is bowled.

They are coached by former Cambrian Eranga Gunaratne with three of his Assistants Hasitha Lanka, Harshan Peramod and Sandesh Harsha, Their Prefect of Games is Mrs. Nadee while the Master in Charge is Mr. Aruna and the Principal is Darshana Udawatta.

Taxila Central will be captained by Chamath Anjana Jayalath and his vice captain will be Deshan Dilmith. Though there are two experienced players in the team the freshers can turn tables.

This season they clinched the division two tire “B” Title and it is a great boon for them and in the mean time it is good exposure for them as they participated in eight matches.

The coach is Sanjana Disanayake while the two MIC’s are Prabath Akalanka and Lasantha Gamage and the Prefect of Games is Mrs, Devika Maduranganai and the Assistant POG is Premasiri Edirisinghe. This year the hosts are Taxila Central and the Principal Mrs. K. K. P. M. Jayathilake has a tight schedule and the President of the OBA Manoj Manjula Perera is a tower of strength for her in making this event a reality.
