Teacher gives birth to quadruplets at Peradeniya Hospital

A thirty-year-old school teacher from Kurunegala Thoraya has recently given birth to quadruplets at the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital. Obstetrician and Gynecologist of Peradeniya Teaching Hospital Sampath Gnanarathana said that the mother gave birth to three male children and a female child. The mother and the children are in good health.

The teacher Kushani Lansakara and Buddhika Herath, a development officer at the Kurunegala Mallawapitiya Divisional Secretariat, are the parents of the quadruplets.The four children weigh between 1.3 and 1.1 kg each and have been referred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.
