Teacher molesting 29 children remanded till August 2
Eravur Curcuit Magistrate yesterday further remanded the teacher who was allegedly involved in molesting 29 children in his class, till August 02.
The Magistrate rejected the request made by the suspect to appear for himself in Court.
It was revealed that over 40 persons have given evidence against the suspect. The teacher in question was first arrested in 2019 over the alleged abuse of a child. However he had been released on bail citing lack of evidence.
The Child and Women’s Bureau which conducted thorough investigations into him found that 29 children had been sexually abused by the suspect.
When the case was taken up before the court yesterday, the Magistrate told the suspect to obtain the services of a lawyer, as a suspect cannot appear on behalf of himself. However, the suspect had informed court that lawyers have boycotted to appear for him.
