Temporary ban on the Sri Lanka Motor Sports Association Interim Committee
The Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs recently issued a special gazette notice suspending the registration of Sri Lanka Automobile Sport – SLAS, the national association of motor sports of Sri Lanka, with immediate effect and appointing a committee for its governance.
The former ruling council appeared before the Court of Appeal challenging that decision and giving appeals to the case filed on the unfairness of the cases and the court has ordered a temporary ban on the activities of that interim committee.
Through this, the committee elected in 2022 has the opportunity to be re-established.
The committee elected in the year 2022 will be allowed to organize the car races to be held this year and to carry out the future work of the association and the annual competition schedule announced by them will be implemented.
