Ten CP teachers transferred for violating circular

0 19

The Provincial Education Ministry has transferred 10 teachers who held extra classes violating the circular issued by Central Province Education Ministry informing teachers not to hold private classes for a fee for students receiving education in their own schools.

A special raiding unit has also been established on the instructions of Provincial Education Secretary Menaka Herath following information that some teachers of several schools in and around Kandy, are holding extra classes against the circular.

Many complaints have been received by the Ministry of Education that the teachers who conduct support classes in the preparation of examination papers at the school level in term examinations give more marks to the children who attend their classes and pressure the parents of children who do not attend the classes to attend those support classes.

Currently, it is planned to prepare the term examination question papers prepared at school level by the Central Provincial Education Department from next year.

An official of the Provincial Education Ministry said that this programme is being implemented with the aim of putting an end to the discriminatory conduct of certain teachers.
