The eagerly awaited PRIMA-sponsored Sri Lanka Junior Open Golf Championship and Regional Junior Open Tournaments are set to kick off from December 20 to 22 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club. This premier junior golf programme, now in its 15th year, will host 10 foreign players in the Open Gold Division, creating a platform for earning coveted World Ranking Points.
Notably, PRIMA’s flagship brand, Sunrise bread, has been a steadfast sponsor of the tournament for 15 consecutive years. The event signifies a significant milestone in the enduring partnership between PRIMA and Sri Lanka Golf, dedicated to nurturing junior golf talent across the country.
Preceding the main tournament on December 20, practice sessions will be held on December 18 and 19. Originating in 2008 with PRIMA’s Sunrise bread as a key partner, this year marks the 15th anniversary of the championship.
The Sri Lanka Junior Open holds a prestigious status as the benchmark for the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) for junior golfers. The National Junior Champion title awaits the victorious golfer in both boys and girls categories, with Open and Gold categories catering to various age groups.

The Golf President Peiris also expressed appreciation for the Royal Colombo Golf Club’s support throughout the year, highlighting their contributions to maintaining a top-notch golf course despite challenging weather conditions.
