Ten injured as lorry overturns in Panadura

The Panadura South Police said a small lorry carrying a group returning from sightseeing for Vesak overturned yesterday  morning (7) at around 5.45 am in the Walana area, Panadura and 10 people were injured. A hospital spokesman said four of the injured were in serious condition.

Investigations have revealed that the lorry, which was coming towards Matugama from Colombo overturned in Walana on Galle Road. The police say that 17 people were travelling in the small lorry at the time of the accident. Police suspect that the driver of the lorry may have fallen asleep.
